This is a blog dedicated to telling family stories and exploring history through the process of making food; through recipes, gardening, farming, foraging, cooking and learning. The stories will be principally mine, a professionally-trained cook who, with some regrets, slowly made her way out of the kitchen. As a Central- Eastern European mutt, pork and paprika were the culinary fabric of my childhood. Many of my personal recipes will contain at least one of these two ingredients, with some cabbage thrown in for good measure.
Anyone can create a narrative through food, so some good friends will hopefully be making an appearance on this blog as well.
